He grew up in Beaumont singing in church and school choirs, developing the musical talent that would lead him to UNT, where he earned his bachelor's and master's in music. He also developed a keen interest in his piano accompanist, and Miss Sandra Fulmer would be Mrs. Sandra Davidson for 67 years.
Neil attended SMU Law School at night, was choral director for Irving High before opening his law practice, directed music at Plymouth Park Baptist and later Calvary Baptist Church in Garland, and served in the Naval Reserves, all the while raising three sons. He was a member of the Dallas Opera, Dallas Civic Chorus and Dallas Symphony Chorus, and North Irving Rotary Club. He was also a private pilot, avid snow skier and scuba diver, but he never missed any of his sons' activities, from choir concerts to youth football games, and did same with his grandkids. He was the consummate family man, from husband to father to grandfather,.
Neil is survived by wife Sandra Davidson, sons Scott, Bruce and Blake, grandchildren Shannon, Kathryn, Adam, Daniel and Emily Davidson, and sister Barbara Slaughter.
