Richard was an award winning watercolorist and had several paintings published in the Longview News Journal. He loved cats, was an excellent knitter, knitting sweaters and socks. In high school he was a member of the Kilgore High School Band and could, as it's been said, played a mean Trombone. Richard was a Dental Assistant for many years.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Teresa Jones. He is survived by his life partner, Ray Munn of Longview, Texas; his sisters, Shelia Leach of Bossier City, Louisiana, Sandra Gossage of White Oak, Texas and Judith Leach of Kilgore, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Richard had requested that rather than sending the usual floral remembrances', that contributions be made to the Humane Society of East Texas in Tyler P.O. Box 6151 Tyler, TX. 75710
