Mrs. Charles E. Atkinson, Bedford, VA, Sept. 21, 1927 - Funeral service for Mrs. Charles E. Atkinson, 68, were conducted from Shady Grove Baptist Church, of which she was a member, yesterday morning. Mrs. Atkinson was Miss Minnie Crouch and a native of this county. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Waldron, near Irving, Sunday. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. J.M. Parker (Ollie Mildred Atkinson Parker), of Lynchburg; Mrs. Waldron (Virginia "Pink" Atkinson Waldron), John Atkinson of Thaxton; Zannie Atkinson (William Alexander "Zannie" Atkinson), of Norfolk, and Mrs. John Neighbors (Elizabeth Henderson Atkinson Neighbors), of Shady Grove, this county. *Note: she was also survived by daughters Mrs. S. Lowry Atkinson (Mary "Lula" Atkinson Atkinson), and Mrs. Ida C. Wheeler (Ida Catherine Atkinson Wheeler).
