FUNERAL OF MAUDE STUART.

Dr. Houghton Christens her Child Frederic
Robert De Belleville.

Nearly all day yesterday Frederic De Belleville sat in his room at 219 West Fortieth street beside the coffin of Maude Stuart, the young woman whom he had intended to make his wife. Their child, a weazen and energetic little youngster, sat near by on the lap of a friend. There was a bunch of white flowers on the breast of the dead Indiana girl. At 3 o'clock, Dr. Houghton, of the Little Church Around the Corner, came in and read the burial service. Only intimate friends were present at the ceremony. It had been announced for 4 o'clock, and had been advanced an hour at the last moment. Immediately after the funeral service, there was a christening and Dr. Houghton bestowed upon the baby named Frederic Robert De Belleville.

At 4 o'clock, the little flat was crowded with actors and actresses. The four rooms filled up with flowers, which were brought in great quantities. The inscription on the coffin was:

MAUDE STUART
Beloved wife
of
FREDERIC DE BELLEVILLE.
