Claxton Ray Young, a native of Lake Providence, LA and resident of New Orleans, LA, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at John J. Hainkel Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 83. Claxton is survived by Julia Bailey and their children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Pallie Young; a brother Elzie J. Young; and sisters: Lillie Myles and Lula Helton.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, NOLA on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Hosi Gardner, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
