John F. Johnson Sr. lived in the Wilson Co., TN area for many years where his first wife died. He then followed his son to Kentucky and remarried to Mrs. Priscilla Bennett in Adair Co., KY. They followed the son John F. Johnson Jr. family and the Jessee family to then Taney Co., MO - later Douglas Co. where John F. Johnson jr. acquired a homestead in the Roy community in 1859. A portion of the John F. Johnson property was set aside for a cemetery. John F. Johnson Sr. was probably one of the first persons buried here. His actual death date is not known but believed to have been during the Civil War era. It's not known when his wife Priscilla died but if she made the trip to Missouri with John F. Sr. she is most likely buried here also.
