Pioneer Resident will be buried on Wednesday:

The funeral of the late Mrs Alma Cecilia Bowell, wife of J.M. Bowell, former collector of customs in Vancouver, and son of the late Sir Mackenzie Bowell, will take place from Center & Hanna's on Wednesday afternoon t 2 o'clock, Rev. Dr W.H. Smith officiating. Deceased passed away on Monday night at a local hospital, after being in failing health for some time.Recently she returned from a trip to California, where she had gone in the hope of recuperating.

Born in Ottawa 61 years ago, deceased was a daughter of the late Thomas Patterson, appraiser of customs at Ottawa. Four children are left to mourn her loss, Mrs Walter Haley, Mrs. T.m. Christie and Mr. B Bowell, all of Vancouver, and Pvt. I.W.M. Bowell of the 123rd Canadian Pioneers who has been at the front 27 months.

The late Mrs. Bowell had been a resident of Vancouver for over 30 yers. Interment will take place in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery:
