Robert C. "Peck" Boyett, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:49 A.M., Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence. Peck had been a mine boss for several local mines for twenty-three years. He had ministered at Meredosia Baptist Church, Matthews Baptist Church, Ava Baptist Church and Horse Prairie Baptist Church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. Peck had been President of the Old Du Quoin Cemetery Board. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was born October 5, 1942 in Du Quoin, IL, the son of John and Roberta (Shook) Boyett. He married on June 9, 1966 in Shawneetown, IL . He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three sons - four grandchildren - one great grandson - and two sisters - He was preceded in death by his parents. Per Peck's request, cremation rites were accorded. There will be no public visitation or funeral services.
