At an early age, she moved to Vienna and graduated from Parkersburg High School. Naomi received her training in cosmetology, taught kindergarten at Wesley United Methodist Church and worked as a kitchen designer for several years. Naomi worked at the Uniform Boutique for the Wolf family for over twenty years until its closing. She worked a Lambert Tatman Funeral Home until her retirement.
Her faith in her Lord was her focus. Naomi was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Marietta for many years before becoming active in church in Parkersburg. She was a member of the Christian Life Center, considered those at church her family and they fondly referred to her as Sister D. She continually collected L dollars to support church ministries and projects. Those who knew Naomi remember her passion for the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Naomi is survived by her daughter Sue Dixon Christman (Troy) of Belpre, grandson Joe Dixon (Julia) of Belpre, "granddaughter" Keisha Ford and her daughter Ka'Niyah, "grandson" Joe Hunt (Lisa), caregiver and friend Anna Burger, several nieces, nephews and her church family.
Naomi was preceded in death by her father David E. Lemon, mother Carol E. Harper Alexander, step father Roland Alexander, sons Steve Dixon, James Dixon IV, and brother Gilbert Lemon.
Funeral services will be 6 pm Wednesday at the Christian Life Center 3211 6th Ave. Parkersburg with Pastor Joe Hunt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Neale-Cook Cemetery 1 pm Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, Naomi's family is requesting donations be made to the Christian Life Center3211 6th Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26101.
