Addie, age 14, lived with her parents, James W. & Settie Ford, ages 55, who were renting a home in Township 5, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Her parents had been married 35 years; her mother had given birth to 8 children - all living. Her father farmed to support the family.

Mose & Addie Love, ages 29 & 24, were renting a home in Wilson, Carter Co, OK. They had been married 5 years; Addie had given birth to 2 children - only 1 was living. Mose supported them by farming.
