ANTON'S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran

Tony Fischer passed away on December 10, 2023, at 95 years old. Born May 15, 1928, in Glen Ullin, North Dakota to Ralph and Monica Fischer. He was born on the family farm.

Dad spoke German until the 1st grade where he learned English. If the school children did not speak English, they would have to stay in from recess.

He married the love of his life, Clara Schwartz, on June 7, 1952. Together they started their journey in San Pedro, California via Greyhound bus from North Dakota. Several moves later, they arrived in Spokane, Washington, in 1962. Tony began building single family homes in 1968 with Clara at his side. They spent many Saturday nights at the German American Hall in Spokane with their friends dancing to Polka music and listening to Norm Seegurger play his accordion. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 7th, 2022.

He was always interested in trading stocks, always keeping track of the stock market. His accountant always waited until she heard which stocks he purchased before she purchased her stocks.

On retirement, Dad and Mom were snowbirds and traveled to Apache Junction, Arizona, for 10 years.

Tony is survived by four children: Brenda Pottratz (Steve), Kelan Fischer, Ryne Fischer, and Rorie Fischer (Wende). Five grandchildren: Ty Pottratz (Shannon), Tiffany Long (Joe), Eric Fischer, Craig Fischer, and Christy Granger. Six great-grandchildren: Kailey, Mason, Lilly, Sophie, Tessa, and Gabby.
