"Roy William Stagg, Sr., 60, of 11708 E. 75th, Raytown, died today at the St Joseph Hospital. He was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Stagg was an employee of Black, Sivalls and Bryson 19 years, retiring in 1970. He was an Episcopalian. He was a member of McDonald Masonic Lodge No. 325, the Scottish Rite and the Shrine Provost Club No. 273. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lucille Stagg of the home; two sons, Roy W. Stagg, Jr., and Edward Harold Stagg, both of Independence; a daughter, Miss Kathleen Stagg of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Goldie Blatt and Mrs. Alta Trussell, both of Independence, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Kansas City, and Mrs. Della Beal of Spirit Lake, Ia.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Speaks Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, June 28, 1971
