Earl D. Conner, Sr., 84, of Connersville passed away Sunday afternoon on January 14, 2024 at Reid Health of Richmond, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Earl was born on May 26, 1939 in Union County, Indiana, one of six children of Arthur Buford and Leah White Conner.

On May 20, 1961, Earl married the love of his life, Carol Ann Richardson, in Abington, Indiana, where they resided in the Connersville/Liberty area. Mrs. Conner passed away, April 19, 2013.

A proud veteran, Earl served his country in the United States Army.

For several years, Earl was employed as a Truck Driver for J.M. Hutton Casket Company, he was then employed at Middle Stone Quarry and then for several years, he became the Animal Control Officer for the City of Connersville. For over 40 years, Earl was a member of the Fayette County Civil Defense, where he obtained the rank as sergeant and then became a member of Fayette County Emergency Management. Earl was a member of the American Legion, Post 1.

In his leisure, Earl enjoyed, hunting, coon hunting, spending time doing family activities, spending quality time with many of his friends, and especially enjoyed going on car rides.

Survivors include six children, Earl D. (Kathy) Conner, Jr., Kimberly (Shawn) Pate, Archie (Sasha) Conner, Angela (Mike) Sorrell, Donald Conner and Michael (Heaven) Conner, all of Connersville, twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren two sisters, Jackie (Johnnie) Lutz, Sandy Horning, both of Connersville, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his wife of fifty-one years, Carol Ann, Earl is preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Arthur Conner, a grandson, Chad Gray, and three sisters, Goldie Maze, Jane Chasteen, and Diane Thomas.

Friends and Family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 with Reverend Phil Marcum officiating at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be held at Abington Cemetery in Abington, Indiana.
