David A. Evans, 86, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Harrison Terrace Senior Living in Indianapolis. He was born June 28, 1937 in Noblesville, the son of the late Orval and Gertrude (Hines) Evans.
David graduated from Anderson High School and Ball State University with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts Education. He taught Industrial Arts at Chrysler High School in New Castle for a short time, and then retired from teaching at Wapahani High School after several years. He then worked full time at Walmart in New Castle for over 10 years, retiring from there. He enjoyed Ham Radio for many years and was on the Sky Warn Storm Team in Henry County for several years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons, Duane Evans of New Castle and Darren (Angela) Evans of Dunlap, TN; grandchildren, Denise (Drew) Lyons of FL, Tiffany (Adam) Jones of Lynn, Halee Evans of Fortville and Austin Evans of Fortville; several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Evans in 2013.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. noon, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Christian Love Center, 402 S. 18th St., New Castle, IN 47362.
