Bret grew up in Stockholm, NJ and entered the military after high school. He served at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, where he met the love of his life, Jo Ann. After military service, he returned to his hometown, enlisting with the Hardyston Police Department as an officer in January 1998. John rose through the ranks to become Chief, retiring in 2020. Since retirement, he continued his pursuit of helping others by serving as the Vice President of Program Development for Law Enforcement Against Drugs And Violence (L.E.A.D.). John moved to Wantage, NJ in 2003.
