Mr. Larry Richard Metcalf went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2024, at his home in Weaverville, NC surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Metcalf was born and raised in Candler, NC. He is survived by his beloved wife, Iva Jean, and children, Michelle Metcalf, Monica McLeod and husband Jeff, Kellie Kendall and husband Brent, and Austin Metcalf and wife Jessie, and grandchildren, Amanda Crowder, Madison Yearout, Emrie Kendall, and Mason Metcalf. His loving sisters are Sandra DeBruhl, Linda Metcalf, and Sherry Diaz. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Metcalf, and his granddaughter, Bailey Yearout.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandparent and friend. He felt the most peaceful while overlooking Lake Keowee from his recliner. He was a proud Papaw and felt blessed to have his family close. He was a talented machinist and could fix most anything. When asked about what he would want people to remember about him, he joked "I'm always right!"

The family will receive friends starting at 11 am and the service will follow at 12 pm. In the interim, the family will gather at his home located at 515 Locust Grove Road, Weaverville, NC 28787. Larry was cremated.
