Survivors include his children, Dena Lester (Mel), Donna Crawford (Dennis), Debra Jarels, and Scott Trobaugh (Kim); 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Bob was the editor and publisher of the Radford News Journal (1969-1974); worked as an operations analyst and production control manager at Inland Motors in Radford, Va.; VA Transformer in Roanoke, Va.; Chihuahua, Mexico; and finally, ABB in Bland County.
Bob had many interests and hobbies: raising and training quarter horses, fishing and boating at Claytor and Smith Mountain lakes, gardening, collecting antiques, playing old time Bluegrass music, just to name a few.
The family would like to thank the staff at Commonwealth Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice nurse, Sharon. A special thank you to his very dear friend, Juanita.
Bob's wish was for cremation and celebration of life services will be held at a later date. The family suggests making a donation to a local animal shelter in Bob's name.
