Joanne Jayne Barton (née Armstrong) was born on August 4, 1935, in Omaha, she passed on January 12, 2024, at the age of 88, in Huntsville, TX. Joanne was the daughter of Cecil Paul Armstrong and Pearl Lucinda White (née Auxier). Joanne is preceded in death by her parents; by her loving husband of over 55 years, Roy Walter Barton, Sr.; by two children, Alyce Alvina and Roy Walter, Jr.; by one great- grandchild, Ava Grace DeLeon; and by both of her siblings, Russell Paul Armstrong and Ruth Evelyn Kathman. Joanne is survived by her children, Deola L. Morrical, Cecilia G. Barton-Murrah (and M. Lee Murrah), Wilburta L. Barton, Russell P. Barton (and Tracy Smith), Roxanne M. Barton; and daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Barton. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and many, many loving nieces, and nephews. Joanne was a kind, strong woman, who always put her family first. She was the last surviving member of her generation on both her, and her husband's side of the family. Joanne was cremated, her ashes will be scattered in Montana (as were her husband's). There will be no service, per her wishes. Memorials can be made in Joanne's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
