Mr. Lewis Edward "Eddie" Blackmon, 86, formerly of Lugoff, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at home. He was born in Rock Hill, a son of the late Charles Dwight Blackmon and Mary Evelyn Huckabee Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was twice widowed, first to Virginia Hunter Blackmon and last to Delores Maree Blackmon. He was a graduate of Baron DeKalb High School. After graduation, he worked at Springs Industries Grace Bleachery then changed employment and retired from Dupont. He also worked at Alan's Market and Nursery and Flash Expedite Services. Mr. Blackmon enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and was an avid reader.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Blackmon, Thursday, January 25, 2024 from the graveside at Kershaw City Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Hammond officiating.

Mr. Blackmon is survived by three daughters, Sue Pardue (Ray) of Woodruff, Rose Mary Cauthen (Jay) and Beth Doster (Mike) all of Lancaster; three sons, Danny Blackmon of Lancaster, Dennis Blackmon (Patty) of Myrtle Beach and Mike Blackmon (Jenean) of Roanoke, VA; a step-son, Randy Hargett (Sharon) of Salisbury, NC; three step-daughters, Sharon Varnadore (Steve) of Great Falls, Libby Kirkland (Randy) of Chester and Mary Thomas (Michael) of Rock Hill; a brother, Charles Blackmon, Jr. (Sandy) of Westville; three sisters, Charla Goodman (Mark) of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Lynn Hankins (Don) of Elgin, SC and DeAnna Delia of Irmo; 17 grandchildren, Shane Parrish, Anna Starnes, Andrew Horton, Stephanie Horton, Jenny Bolin, Crystal Connell, Kevin Doster, Jacob Doster, Michael Varnadore, Stacy Varnadore, J.L. Hargett, Willie Hargett, Jamey Hargett, Joseph Kirkland, Meranda Nelson, Nikki Greenwood and Noel Garcia; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura June Blackmon; a grandson, Justin Parrish; and a sister, Jeanne Estridge.
