Joseph grew up in Tooele County Utah and lived most of his adult life in Tooele, along with his parents, and siblings Erma (Doug), Wayne (Julia), Janet (Jerry), Laycock, Darryl (Rhita), Lenor Lund, Robert Lee (Dawn), and Russel (Elaine). He lived in American Fork, Utah for a short time where he graduated from American Fork High School and met and married Kathryn Richan (Colledge) on November 25, 1968. They had two daughters, Mary (Roger) Smith and Tina (Rusty) Lees. They divorced and later he married Judithann (Jolley) Erickson, on March 1, 1974. They were sealed in the temple in 1986. She added another daughter Tammy Spencer and two boys David (Arlene) and Dale (Georgeann) Erickson.
Joseph served in the United States Navy for four years, during Vietnam in California as a store clerk. He retired from MagCorp from the "tool crib." He lived to tinker around his shop and watch movies.
He was blessed with many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Erma, brother Wayne, his daughters, son-in-law, and his wife Judy. He loved his family and friends; he will be missed.
Celebration of life will be held at the LDS church on 141 W. Utah Ave, Tooele, Utah on February 10, 2024, from 11am-1 pm. Interment to follow.
