Raymond Walter Covington, age 81, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. Raymond was born in Arkansas and moved to Alabama when he was two years old. He graduated from Etowah High School and joined the Marines.

He married the love of his life in May of 1963, together they were blessed with three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Raymond worked for the Attalla Fire Department for 37 years retiring as a Major/Commander. He worked at several auto parts stores over the years and as a delivery driver for Vann Express. He also worked as a medic for the ambulance company. He was kind and generous, helping everyone he came in to contact with. His family was the world to him, and he loved them all dearly.

Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Walter Covington Sr. and O'Bera Mae Reed Covington; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Barron and Eugene Barron.

He is survived by his wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

Funeral Services were at Morgan Funeral Chapel January 27, 2024. Visitation prior to the Chapel Service. Interment was at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
