James Eddie "Jim" Barker was born August 17, 1940, in Madill, Oklahoma to Arthur Lee and Clara Belle (Elmore) Barker. He attended Hollister Public School, graduating from Frederick High School in 1958. He later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He started working as a plumber at the age of seventeen and worked in the business his entire life.
He is survived by one daughter, Kelly Jo Gonzales of Bonham, Texas; two grandchildren, Zachry and Haley Hines both of Bonham, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Kynzlee Hines of Bonham; one brother-in-law, Dale Maddux of Frederick, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Barker of McAlester, Oklahoma; and his nieces and nephews, Kristi McCullough, Melitta Simmons, Jimmy Blankinship, Art Barker, Craig Barker and Troy Maddux.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and A.L. Barker; and one sister, Le Maddux.
