Johnny Wayne Bland, age 71 of Whitney, Texas passed away June 4, 2023, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Open Range Cowboy Church with Brother Gerald Dudley officiating. A burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney.

Johnny was born October 19, 1951, in Terrell, Texas to Walter Eugene and Lottie Ethel (Luce) Bland. He was a very hard worker his entire life and was raised by his sister and brother-in-law Laura and Bill Ables. Johnny loved his family dearly. He had struggles during much of his life which he overcame with the love and support of his family later in life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers, Eugene, Lonnie, and Ronnie Bland; sisters, Bernice St. John, and Laura Ables.
