EKBERG, Vivian 87 passed away on Feb 12, 2018. Vivian was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Defiance College and Wright State University. She spent a large part of her teaching career with 3rd graders at Union Elementary. Vivian was a member of First United Church of Christ-Troy and a former member of Cross Creek United Church of Christ. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Dwight and Pauline Newkirk and her husband, The Reverend Ronald G. Ekberg. She is survived by her daughters; Grandson; Great Grandson; Sister in Law; numerous nephews and nieces, a host of cousins and many close friends. At Vivian's request, there will not be a service. She has graciously donated her body to Wright State Medical School. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Troy for the loving care they provided over the last 4 1/2 years. They are truly angels. Vivian's passion was educating children. In her memory and in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Help Me Grow Brighter Futures 1133 Edwin C Moses Blvd. Suite 240 Dayton OH 45417.
