Kathryn Cornwell, age 83, of Mason, Michigan passed away on January 23, 2024. She was born on June 21, 1940 in Lansing to Carl and Ruth Beach. Kathy graduated from Eastern High School in 1958. On July 23, 1960, she was married to David Cornwell who passed away in 2020 after 59 years of marriage. Along with her husband, she refinished furniture for forty some years. She was proud of the many pieces of furniture they refinished under Cornwell Refinishing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mason. For many years she worked occasionally as the receptionist at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home Ball Dunn Chapel in Mason. Kathy enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, gardening, playing bridge, and golfing along with spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Christine (Patrick) Hesch of Mason, Diane (Joseph) Reynolds of East Lansing, and Jeffrey Cornwell of Lansing; six grandchildren, Stephannie (Danny) Hearit, Janelle (Ryan) Popa, Jacob (Taylor) Hesch, David Harmon, Danielle Every, Jessica (Greg) King; eleven great-grandchildren, Kole, Kaleb, Jayden, Grayson, Keegan, Easton, Ada Jane, Madison, Vivian, Eloise, and Kayson; sisters, Elaine Rodocker of Charlotte and Leona Sherwood of Grand Ledge; sister-in-law, Janet Ziemke of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Hunt and her parents. A visitation for Kathryn will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel, 621 South Jefferson St., Mason, MI 48854. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Following the service, Kathryn will be laid to rest in Wacousta Cemetery, 13471 Wacousta Rd., Grand Ledge, MI 48837. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathryn's memory may be made to the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Miami, FL 33134.
