Brian Lee Anthony Starr, 34

Brian Lee Anthony Starr, age 34, of Harbor Springs, passed away, Jan. 28, 2020.

Brian was born Oct. 16, 1985 to Kaye Lynn (Starr) Brown, in Petoskey, Michigan. He lived several places in his youth, including Alpena and Mount Pleasant, but primarily lived and attended school in Charlevoix. School was not made to hold Brian and he tested all of the boundaries. However, one of his proudest achievements was earning his GED in February 2008. Brian eventually made his home in Harbor Springs.

Brian was funny, intelligent, hardworking, passionate, and fiercely loyal. He was a patriot who loved his country. He also had a sincere and vulnerable side that few people ever saw. Brian was active and loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with his grandparents who he loved and cared for deeply.

Brian excelled at and became passionate about the food industry. He began as a dishwasher and prep cook at The Little Harbor Club in Harbor Springs, and then worked several other places, including Filmore's in Petoskey. Brian eventually advanced to cook, and then Fry Chef, at The Fish Restaurant in Harbor Springs, and most recently, The Original Pancake House in Bay Harbor.

Brian leaves behind and will be terribly missed by his grandparents, Harold and Kay Archey of Charlevoix; step-father and good friend, Benjamin Brown III; brother, Michael Holdorph of Charlevoix; sister, Katrina (Lance) McKay of Gaylord; uncles, Richard (Melissa) Starr II, Tony Starr, and Phillip (Melissa) Archey; aunt, Kristine (Alan) Holmes; cousins, Gabrial and Joshua Holmes, Nathan Grubbs, Jennifer (and Cole), Jacob, and Kaden Archey, Brody, Noah, and Eden Starr; niece, Madeline Ormsbee; nephew Devon Greathouse; and many great-aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his dear mother and his great grandparents, Elmer and Gwen Kreger of Conway.

A celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.

The family would like to thank Gaylord Community Funeral Home for helping with the final arrangements.
