Linda Marie Rogers (née Vergot) a 49-year resident of the Saddleback Valley, was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 28th at Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, CA, at the age of 71.
Linda was born on Sept. 16, 1952, to Nicholas M. Vergot and Marguerite Vergot (née Ocheltree) in Covina, California. She joined her older brother, John, as part of the Vergot Family. Linda attended schools in Baldwin Park.
In August of 1973, Linda met her future husband, James Rogers, a teacher, at a wedding. Linda, a bridesmaid, and James, a groomsman, were paired to walk down the aisle together. They were married in April 1974 and in February 1978 they adopted their only child.
Linda's passion was rescuing dogs, particularly West Highland White Terriers (Westies). Over the years, the Rogers rescued seventeen dogs, mostly seniors and many with health challenges. She spent many hours volunteering with the West Highland White Terrier Club of California and Westie Rescue of Orange County and Beyond. She was seldom seen without a dog sitting in her lap.
Linda was predeceased by her parents and in-laws. She is survived by her husband of 49+ years, James, her son, and his family, her brother and his wife, and James' brother, sister, and their families.
