While living in New York, she was employed at Bell Telephone Company in the accounting department. In June 1950, she married her beloved husband, Fred, who passed away in 2010. They moved to Dallas in 1963. She was then employed as a receptionist for Dallas Family Practice for 26 years. Upon retiring, she faithfully helped her son, Jeffrey, at his garden center, Hoss's Garden Hut, where she enjoyed working among the flowers and plants while socializing with the customers and friends.
Julie also loved being with her family. Her oldest son, Ronnie, Brigantine, N.J., preceded her in death in 2018.
Her surviving children are Jeffrey Hosle, Harveys Lake; and Wendy Komski (Chris Gibson), Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Alison Schaffer (Brian Schaffer), Brigantine, N.J.; Abbey Hosle, Berlin, N.H.; and Alexa Komski, Richmond, Va.; great-grandchildren, Brycen and Harper Schaffer, Brigantine, N.J.; sister, Frances "Tootsie" Orenchuk, New York City; and several nieces and nephews.
Julie enjoyed traveling to many destinations and was an avid cruiser with her husband and family. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas. The Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic will serve as officiant. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. All are asked to go directly to church on the day of the funeral.
