Velma Ruth Harrison, age 75, a former Smith St., Dellroy, O., resident, died Sunday afternoon, June 4, 2006, in the Carroll Healthcare Center at Carrollton following a long illness.

She retired as a waitress from the Atwood Lake Resort and Conference Center where she was employed from 1974 until 2001.

She was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Kentucky and was the daughter of the late William and Ollie Sumner Caudill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Catherine Lidell Harrison and Teresa L. Harrison; a sister, Edith Combs; and a brother, Otis Caudill.

She enjoyed her quiet time hobbies such as reading, crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. David (Barbara) Burkhart of Dellroy; two granddaughters, Mrs. Tim (Emilee) Burkhart and Mrs. John (Charity) Imes, both of Dellroy; and four great-grandchildren, Codie and Kaylee Imes and Trevor and Abbygail Burkhart.

In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated, and there will be no services or calling hours observed. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements.
