He retired from Mayfair Mills after 41 years of service, and was a member of Griffin Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World.
Survived by his wife; a daughter and son-in-law; a grandson; and three sisters, Laura Childs, Marie Hayes, and Nita Bell Henderson, all of Pickens.
Funeral services: Monday, November 2, 1998, Dillard Funeral Home.
Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park
