Steve was a caretaker and a loving family man. He cared for his mother, (Lena T Poole), for years and had recently moved his Mother-in-law, (Ann Thisdell), into his home. He was constant in his love for his wife Melodie and His Children: Sarah Korus, (Steffen), Joshua Poole, and Mandy Adams,(Jonathan). Steve was a devoted grandfather to Sophie Korus and Sylvester Adams and had been looking forward to meeting Phoebe Adams and Sienna Stevie Korus who were born soon after his death.

Steve left an extended family who will cherish his memory; they include three siblings: Roy Poole,(Gayle), Timothy Poole, (Cindy), and Jewelya Mercer, His Uncle and dear friend William, (Vera Mavis), Turner, Mother-in-law Ann Thisdell, (Wayne Thisdell 1939-2014), brother-in-law Mike Thisdell, (Kemilyn), and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was a patriot who served in the military as a linguist, (Russian and German), until retirement. (1978-1999) His assignments included the Blackhorse Regiment 11th Armored Cavalry and the 511th MI Battalion. After retirement, Steve went on to serve by working as a manager for the TSA in Phoenix, AZ and as a Federal Investigator for OPM based in Huntsville, AL.

In his free time Steve enjoyed classic cars, Civil War history, fishing and watching The Crimson Tide Roll!

If he had an issue to mull over he would get a RC and ride his tractor. He had an amazing sense of humor and a tender heart. Steve was adored by his family and friends and he will be missed always.

Steve's life will be celebrated on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Garden of Valor with Military Honors.
