Eva Ruth Porter, 79, of Palatka, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.
She was a native of Damascus, Georgia and had lived in Putnam County since 1977 coming from Jacksonville. She had worked for Mercury Luggage and was a secretary for Virginia Paper Co. in Jacksonville. She had also worked as the office manager for DSI Forms for more than 20 years. Eva was a member of Bostwick Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Porter. Eva is survived by her children, Alicia McDaniel (Terry) of Palatka and Eva Lynn Gonzalez (Reynol) of Crescent City, brother, Jack Jones (Barbara) of Birmingham, AL and sisters, Beverly Daniels of Arlington, GA and Myra Black (Butler) of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Jared Porter, Reynol Gonzalez, Jr., Eva Eliza Gonzalez, Justin McDaniel and Garrett McDaniel.
