Beautiful Joe was part Airedale, Bull and Fox Terrier...He was a medium sized brown dog...His first owner was a man who cruelly abused the dog to the point of near death....He even cut off his ears and his tail...He was rescued by Walter Moore... in 1890. and he lived for many years in a happy home with pleasant surroundings where he enjoyed a wide local celebrity.. The book was first published 1893....By 1900 800,000 copies sold in the U.S. 40,000 in Canada. 100,000 in the United Kingdom...This is a very good book...My copy is 104 years old... Got it at the Flea market....Has anyone on FAG read this book?
