Francis G. (Frank) Hall, 50, of Hurley, died at 1 a.m. Friday at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, Wis.


He was born Jan. 10, 1913 at Glidden and was graduated from Glidden High School. In 1931 he came to Hurley and started working at the Montreal River Miner. He was employed by that firm and then by the Iron County Miner after the Montreal River Miner was merged with the Iron County News.


He was a linotype operator and was foreman of the shop and a partner in the Iron County Miner until he was taken ill about five years ago. Since then he had worked part time as an advertising salesman for the Miner until he retired about two months ago.


Surviving are his wife, Rita Rein of Glidden; five children, his mother, Mrs. Lena Hall of Glidden; four brothers, Harry of Ironwood, LeRoy and Clement of Bismarck, N.D., and Earl of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Thimm and Mrs. Leland Kehring of Glidden.


The Rosary was recited at the Engstrom Funeral Home on Sunday evening by members of the Knights of Columbus.


Funeral services were held Monday morning at the St. Mary Catholic Church at Hurley with the Rev. Robert Urban officiating. Entombment was at the Hurley mausoleum.


Military rites were conducted by members of the Hurley American Legion Post with Chaplain Edgar Dresely making the flag presentation.


Members of Boy Scout Troop 324 of the St. Mary Church served as honorary pallbearers.
