Basil was the son of Jesse and Hazel Malone Davis. He married Helen Roese, 6 Jun 1936, Pickaway County, Ohio. They had two sons.

Basil E. (Benny) Davis, age 90, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Monterey Care Center. He was born in Pickaway Co. Retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. with 40 years of service. A 50 year member of the following organizations: Westgate Lodge #623 F&AM, Scottish Rite, and the Grove City OES Chapter #502. Preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Hazel (Malone) Davis. Survived by wife of nearly 65 years, Helen (Roese) Davis; sons and daughters-in-law Donald J. (Jack) and Judy Davis of Grove City and Jerry L. and Samia of Los Alamos, N.M.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Schoedinger-Norris Fun real Home, Grove City, where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001. Rev. Ray Wiblin officiating. Interment at Sunset Cemetery. Masonic Service 7:30 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contribution in his memory to Mt. Carmel Hospice.
