Edith L. Acosta, always a generous and giving person, was born December 14, 1930 in Calhoun, Georgia and passed away on February 4, 2024 in Puyallup, Washington at Good Samaritan Hospital amid loved ones.

She will be remembered fondly by many and her loss is felt acutely by her surviving children who together gave her 4 grandchildren.

Prior to coming to the Tacoma, WA. area in the 1960's, her marriage to career military officer and decorated war hero, Lt. Colonel Felix R. Acosta, now deceased, who fought in WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, provided her the opportunity to live in or visit various parts of the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Following the death of her husband in November 1968 she eventually proved herself an apt entrepreneur as the owner of a commercial/residential electric company and also became a competent electrician herself. She enjoyed league bowling, gardening, and was an avid reader. She also liked doing puzzles and watching mysteries. Recently, she could often be seen crocheting colorful afghans or knitting adorable hats for family and friends when not talking on the phone or enjoying a visit from the same. Right up to her last days she truly enjoyed interacting with family and friends with her vibrant clear mind.

She was loved and cherished by many and is deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held February 24, 2024 at 12 noon at Calvary Cemetery at 5212 70th St. W. | Tacoma, WA 98467 | Phone: 253-472-8875.
