MOGADORE - Matthew "Marty" Tossell, 69, died Nov. 14, 1994, after a long illness.


He was born in Barberton and lived in Mogadore for 36 years. Mr. Tossell was a schoolteacher at Jennings Junior High and Litchfield Junior High, retiring in 1977, and attended The Chapel. Marty graduated from Barberton High School, received his B.A. from John B. Stetson University in Deland Florida, and sang in the Grotto Chorus. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Park Etter Post 452 and the D.A.V. Standelan Chapter 35.


He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Evelyn, two sons; Mark and Christopher of Mogadore, brother; Christopher (Elma) of Stowe, sisters; Eva Harmel of Delray Beach Florida, Ann Baldwin of Gautier Mississippi, and a host of nieces and nephews, and loved one.


Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hopkins Lawver Mogadore Funeral Home, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. tonight. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mogadore Fire and Rescue or Haven Rest Ministries.
