J.H Goodrich died last Saturday at the home of his brother, S.W. Goodrich, near Portageville, after an illness of 11 months from ulcers of the stomach.
The deceased was born at Middletown [sic] Tenn. about 66 years ago and moved to this county about 15 years ago, living most of the time near New Madrid where he was engaged in farming. He was a good citizen and will be missed by his relatives and friends.
On Monday afternoon his mortal remains were laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery near Marston.
The deceased is survived by one son and daughter, Henry Goodrich of near Kewanee, and Mrs. Pearl Bean of Sikeston, and one brother, S.W. Goodrich, of near Portageville.
