The community was shocked Wednesday to learn of the death of Carl G. Beckman which occurred at 11:30 a.m. The deceased was taken sick about the first of January with a sever attack of pneumonia and never recovered. Carl Gustaf Beckman was age 68 years the 25th of November and has been a resident of this county 47 years, coming here from Sweden when 21 years (about 1866) and settled in Fillmore county, Minnesota. It was here that he met and married Miss Bertha Mundahl 41 years ago. Mr. Beckman went to Canada for awhile and four years ago came to Montana and has since made his home with his son, H.G. Beckman, who resides north of town. The wife still survives besides six children, namely H.G. and A. B. Beckman and Mrs. Ed Ness of Baker, J.F. Beckman, Mrs. Louis Ness and Mrs. Geo. Fogle of Miles City. Another son, Alfred C., died last spring. The funeral services will be held Friday at 11 o'clock from the home of H.G. Beckman and burial will be buried in Bonnievale Cemetery, Section B, Block 80, and Lot #2 Baker Montana. Rev. McConnehey will conduct the services.
