Linda Beth Jordan passed from this life on April 16, 2023. She was born on January 19th, 1947, in Huntsville, TX.
She was one of eight children born to Thomas and Sarah Plaster. Her brothers, Homer Ray and Bobby, were her protectors, and her sisters, Marlene, Faye, Shirley, Annie, and Tommie were her very best friends.
Linda is survived by her son, Bobby Tyson and wife Sharon; daughter, Michelle and son-in-law Chris; grandchildren, Kayti, Kyle, Taylor, Heath, Katelyn, Colby, Chase, Tori, and Peyton; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Ryker, Mila, Mason, Cody, and Keighston; sister, Tommie and husband Frankie; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Homer Ray and Bobby; her sisters, Marlene, Faye, Shirley, and Annie; and her beloved husband, Johnny.
Linda spent many years working at Charter Title Company with her sister, Tommie. Although they worked hard and had many stressful days, she loved going to work to see her. They enjoyed retirement, but I think they missed each other a lot!
Linda was a great friend to many. She was always there to help, listen, or just sit and talk (and if you brought a Sonic Coke with extra ice she would talk for hours!). She loved to crochet, dance, laugh, and tell stories about "the good ole days" of her childhood.
To her sister Tommie she wrote: "I wish we could go back in time for just a day; a time to make more clover chains and more mud pies; a time to take our dolls out and sit in daddy's car pretending we were grown and were driving our 'babies' some place; to a time when we sat on the floor at our Mothers feet holding hands while she read to us from the Bible; to that time when we played for hours with the paper dolls we cut out of magazines; to a time when we giggled half the night under the covers; to all those Christmas mornings we sat side by side in front of the heater marveling at those new dolls, while Mother and Daddy drank their coffee and watched us."
The world feels sadder without Linda in it, but knowing she is sitting at her mother's feet talking about how beautiful Heaven is, gives me peace. Knowing that she is laughing with Marlene, Faye, Shirley, and Annie fills my heart. Thinking of her face lighting up when Homer Ray and Bobby start playing their guitars makes me smile.
S.A.L.T. forever
She's in the sun, the wind, the rain
She's in the breeze that blows through your hair
If you slow down and watch, she's dancing in the clouds
Listen through the rustle of the trees to the song she sang
About the sweet little robin sitting on the windowsill
The second she left us down here,
She was in the arms of the ones she loved,
Telling stories of her life down on Earth,
And how much she loves all of us
I promise to carry your love with me,
Your smile, your laugh, your voice
I will patiently await the moment
When we will meet again
But until that day, I promise
To live to the fullest, to smile through the tears
And laugh at the voice saying to 'be careful'
What you left behind may not be engraved into mountains,
But what has been woven into the lives of those you loved
