Anchorage resident Albert M. Honda, 48, died Aug. 4, 1996, of cancer at Northwest Hospice in Seattle.

Mr. Honda was born in Reedley, Calif., on Dec. 27, 1947, and later received his degree in aviation mechanics and maintenance at Reedley College. In 1975 he moved to Alaska, living in Fairbanks until 1980, and worked as a mechanic and pilot for Alaska Central Air. He then moved to Anchorage, where he went to work for Reeve Aleutian Airways. His interest in flying extended beyond his work, and he flew and repaired airplanes for pleasure. Recently, he served as vice president of administration for Hawaii Aviation of Honolulu.

Mr. Honda is survived by his mother, Rose of Dinuba, Calif.; brothers, Ron of Irving, Calif., and David of Fresno, Calif.; sisters, Evelyn Reimer of Fresno and Joan of Carson City, Nev.; and nieces, Anna, Katherine and Shannon. After his ashes were scattered over Sleeping Lady on Aug. 11, 1996, an ''aloha'' party was held in his honor in Anchorage the following Tuesday at Ski's Hangar.
