Risë Gayle Rutledge was born December 4, 1978 to William Gregory "Greg" Rutledge (1956-2019) and Nannette (nee: Stroehle) Fretwell at Oregon Health & Sciences University Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She lived her entire life in Oregon but visited Washington, Idaho, California, Florida, Arkansas, Hawai'i, Canada and Caribbean. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new places and experiencing different cultures.


She was named after her mother's best friend and throughout her life was called all sorts of variations - but her name was pronounced Ree-sah.


She is survived by her mother, Nannette, her brother and his wife, a half-sister, her two sons and 2 grandchildren with 1 grandchild to be born in March 2024, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Greg Rutledge and all 4 grandparents.


She has requested no funeral service, to be cremated and her ashes to be spread somewhere pretty.
