Walter C. Smith, 95, passed away Thursday following a lingering illness. A native of Mississippi and resident of Madera for the past seven year, where he engaged in farming, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Spangler of Madera, Mrs. Ida Mullendov of Oklahoma, Mrs. Nonnie Whatley of Madera and sons Jack Smith of Elks City, Oklahoma, and Floyd Smith of Canute, Oklahoma, '27 grandchildren. 59 great-grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Rev. Stanley Bellinger officiated and Mrs. Helen Lanningham sang. Interment followed in the Arbor Vitae cemetery.
Pall bearers were James and Wade Lane. Philip Wells. George Wells, R. T. Allen and M C. Smith.
