Frederick graduated with a BA in Political Science and Economics from Cornell College in 1936. There he also met his future bride, Marjorie Mitchell. Love at first sight. They were married January 31, 1939. Frederick completed his M.Div. degree from Boston University School of Theology in 1939. After graduation, Fred and Marjorie returned to Iowa where he began his 42 years of Methodist ministry.
