George E. Buckler died suddenly at his desk Thursday, November 3, 1949. He was born at Redmon, Illinois December 8, 1896 and went to school at Paris, Illinois and one year at the University of Illinois, before enlisting in the First World War, serving in France and England. His family had moved to Detroit and he returned there and has lived in Detroit since 1918. He was united in marriage to Rita M. Seeley at her parents home on July 15, 1923. For the past 15 years he has worked at ExCello Corp. as a junior executive.
He is survived by his widow, Rita Seeley Buckler and two daughters, Mrs. Miriam Ann Marshall and Nona Eileen Buckler. He also leaves two brotheers and one sister living in Oregon and one sister in Paris, Illinois.
The services in Detroit were in charge of Perrott Lodge No. 524 P. & A. M. assisted by Rev. Ernest E. Piper of St. Matthias Episcopal church. The many floral offerings and the crowd attending showed that his host of friends was almost endless.
The interment at Maplelawn (Maple Grove) Cemetery was in charge of the Elk Rapids Masonic Lodge assisted by the Rev. Stevenson.
