Donald A. Hardin, 58, of Bolivar, died Friday, April 18, 2008, in the Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.

He was born June 14, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Verl and Beatrice Gorman Hardin. He graduated from Bel Air High School and attended University of Texas at El Paso. He was a member of the Loma Terrace Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas, and a seventh-generation descendant of the Cole pioneer family of Missouri.

His father precedes him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Hardin of the home; a son, Jason Hardin of Houston, Texas; a sister, Shirley Hardin of El Paso, Texas; a niece, Melissa Newsome of Savannah, Ga.; and a nephew, Clyde Crews of Paris, Texas; as well as several cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, in Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Bolivar, with the Rev. Lon Killingsworth officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, with bagpipes played by Ron Maupin. Pallbearers were Steve Van Tassell, Mike Magill, Jamie Sharp, Wes Flack, Sam Brothers, Rod Parks.
