William was a Private in the Confederate Army in Captain William C. Scott's 13 Virginia Infantry. When he enrolled he was a Shoemaker. He served in Harper's Ferry and was wounded and taken to the hospital in the Orange County Courthouse on October 7, 1861. He died at the family home of Typhoid Fever.
William has no headstone.
