This morning at 9:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs King, on the North Side, Benjamin F Gills passed to the Great Beyond. He was 81 years of age, and had been a resident of Mercer county for nearly thirty years, coming here from Bland county, Va. Mr Gills was an industrious, quiet, unassuming citizen. He is survived by numerous descendants.
His remains will be conveyed to Ada tomorrow for burial.

A large number of friends and relatives of Benj F Gills accompanied the remains to Ada this morning to attend the funeral. The deceased was a gallant Confederate soldier.
