WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Funeral for former Walters resident Clyde Lee Abbe, 67, Wichita Falls, Texas, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Walters, with Howard Chapman officiating.
Mr. Abbe died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at his home in Wichita Falls.
Burial will be at Randlett Cemetery, Randlett, under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.
He was born July 1, 1937, in Cotton County to Clyde and Ruth Strickland Abbe. He grew up in Walters and graduated from Walters High School in 1956. He then entered the U.S. Army and served for five years. He married Janet Marie Zachary on Sept. 1, 1964, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in Walters, where he worked as a mail carrier for many years. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Mike Prouty, Wichita Falls, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Brent and April Abbe, Walters; a brother, Fred Draper, Haskell, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Stricklin, Duncan; eight grandchildren: Casey, Brandon, Joshua, Jordan and Zachary Abbe, Dakota, Tony and Madison Prouty; and his father and mother-in-law, Pete and Lois Zachary, Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Journey Lynn Prouty.
