A lifetime resident of this area, Mrs. Lucy Jane Pepperling, 75, Rt. 3, died at the Lebanon Community Hospital, Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Pepperling, whose maiden name was Cole, was born July 30, 1882 in Stayton and lived in that community, Crabtree and here all her life. She was married to Robert C. Pepperling on October 9, 1898 at Scio. He died August 8, 1933.

Survivors are a son, Orville, Auburn, California; three daughters, Mrs. Ira Steward and Mrs. Irene Carter, both of Scio and Mrs. Neva Ayers, Baker; three brothers, Curtis Cole, California; Roy Cole, Astoria and Otto Cole, Carlton; one sister, Mrs. Ada Tyler, Grants Pass; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., Monday in the Albany First Baptist Church of which she was a member. The Rev. John Ryan will officiate and burial will be at Bilyeu Den, between Stayton and Scio. The Huston Funeral Home, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
